Even after running 4 rounds around my block covering no less than 3km, i'm still in a frenzy and buzzing, no thanks to the confirmation of the ICT soccer tourement. I went down to the briefing with Irwan and as expected we drew the 2 'toughest' teams possible out of the hat. As expected, the reaction i got from the rest of the lads was not that positive: "sure die liao", "wah lao fuck man how how how?!" "so shuay sia omg".
I din't like any of that. Deep down i felt it was quite a good draw and it could turn out to be a blessing in disguie. Just imagine drawing all the lousy teams and everyone think it would be so easy and start slacking - the consequences would be dire. I vividly remember the last tourement - it was better than the first one in terms of our position but i guess i behaved like some lunatic out there. I've been dying to atone for that all these while, i've been dying to prove my point. I hate losing, call me a sore loser but i just can't stand losing. I want to win all the time, i shout alot on the field when things goes wrong, this is me.
Speaking of the tourement, i can't wait for it to start (its on dec 9, 10 and 11). The good thing is that we have more time to prepare for it. I really wished in our final year together as a class we could put things right for just one time that matters most. What i really hate about this team is that we aren't united enough, we lack lots of team spirit. All the negative things that were being said before a ball is even being kicked show that. We might as well raise a white flag if we think this way, we might as well withdaw from the fucking tourement. If one person in the entire team thinks we will not make it, then we never will. Its all about teamwork and spirit, this is not some world cup we're not playing some great players, just players the same level as us. Soccer is like exam, if u study hard and make an effort, u will pass - its as simple as that.
How many of the lads would be willing to make time juz one day in a week to train together?
waste time...
stupid...
silly....
bo liao...
These are the likely answers. There we go, thats the problem with everyone. Well i'm not very bright, but i do know that if we make an effort to work for it we will succeed. If we think we're going in there just to make up the numbers and have fun then we might as well not turn up. Its about mentality, its about spirit and believing. Skills, tactics and all the shits come second.
There isn't anything that comes free in this world, there's no short cut to success be it in a small competition or the world cup.

If the so call 'big teams' in our tourements are the France and Hollands, then we can always be the Greece...

and if they are the Juventus and AC Milans here then we can always be Liverpool....

...and if they're the Thailands and Indonesias, then we shall be Singapore....
I'm not saying we're gonna play like Greece, Liverpool or Singapore - that would be unrealistic and ridiculous. I'm just implying that we can take heart from how these 3 teams won their tourements - belief, spirit, teamwork. No star players needed, period.
I don't know if u guys will be reading this but if u do, well i hope it does makes sense to u guys. Lets do this, for the last time - one for all, all for one!
